Peace River Wildlife Center

Peace River Wildlife Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit wildlife rehabilitation and education center tucked neatly into the mangroves overlooking Charlotte Harbor at Ponce de Leon Park in Punta Gorda Isles, Florida. Admission is free but donations are greatly appreciated.

Visual Arts Center

The Visual Arts Center, located in Punta Gorda, features three major galleries, 6 classrooms including jewelry, glass, pottery & technology studios, an extensive arts library, Gift Gallery, Art and Supply Store. The 12,000 square foot facility provides the best art classes, instructors and exhibit opportunities for the community and its visitors. Courses are designed for all ages and skill levels and they offer classes and workshops in a variety of arts media throughout the year.

Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach is home to one of the best Pickleball facilities in Florida. With 16 sanctioned courts, tournament-level lighting, and fences separating every court, the PicklePlex® of Punta Gorda is the place to host your next tournament or training camp.

Spring Training Baseball

The annual Major League Baseball pilgrimage to Florida for pre-season preparation dates back to the 1888 season when the Washington Nationals traveled south to Jacksonville for pre-season workouts. Our local community is proud to play host as the home of Spring Training for the Tampa Bay Rays & Atlanta Braves. During February and March, catch a a Rays game at nearby Charlotte Sports Park or a Braves game at Cool Today Park in North Port.

Or just a bit south of Englewood Beach is Stump Pass Beach State Park where you can expect picturesque seclusion. If you're looking for a truly memorable escape, explore Gasparilla Island State Park where you can visit the restored Port Boca Grande Lighthouse built in 1890.
